Welcome! As we dive into the decade of the 1950s, a golden era for baseball. If this is your first visit to 7 Decades of Pennant Races, join us each week as we travel through each decade, starting with an overview of the decade followed by an exciting glance of each year’s pennant races and a summary of each team and its notable players for that particular year.
WOW, Jim! This brings back the BEST memories for me! It's hard to believe that at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in a suburb of Pittsburgh, they actually let us WATCH the World Series during school hours -- even tho the Pirates NEVER played (in my memory)! It was always Dodgers vs Yankees & I changed my allegiances yearly -- since I was strictly a "Pirates Fan" & could've cared less. But it was fun "getting a break from the usual school day" & watching baseball on tv! Thanks for the memories! Looking forward to buying more copies of your newest pub! :)
